How to Find China Packaging Manufacturers

A practical workflow for overseas buyers to discover, shortlist, and evaluate China packaging manufacturers using public data.

Where to look first

Most overseas buyers start with B2B marketplaces, exhibition listings, and search engines. Each of these surfaces different parts of a supplier's public footprint.

Structured directories like FactoryRoster compile that public footprint into searchable profiles so you don't have to manually piece together a company across five different sources.

What data to collect

For each candidate factory, record: legal company name, location, year established, website, main product categories, capabilities mentioned, and any certifications mentioned in public sources.

Treat all of this as a starting hypothesis. Until the supplier confirms or you verify independently, fields are mentioned, not verified.

How to shortlist

Filter by category, province, and supplier type. Manufacturers and exporters behave differently — manufacturers run lines, exporters resell. Inferred manufacturer means we cannot yet tell from public data.

Use profile status as a quality signal: Manually Reviewed and Cross-source Matched profiles tend to be more complete than Publicly Indexed entries.

How to make contact

Send a structured RFQ. Include product, quantity, unit, destination country, required certifications, dimensions, and your timeline. Vague inquiries get vague replies.

You can submit one RFQ on FactoryRoster and use it to contact several matching suppliers.
